According to Sky news the Brussels attacks has been linked to
Isis suicide brigades.
The suicide brigades comprises of men who joined for the
sole purpose of dying as martyrs. France, Germany, Spain, Tunisia and Egypt are
countries they are purportedly from. This one is their international suicide brigades’
o, let us not forget Naija’s own, Mali, Somalia, Kenya etc.
With global terrorism as the spotlight in the
international community one cannot help but think if we are witnessing Sam
Huntington’s “clash of civilisations”? The fight against terrorism should be
done under one global body, United Nations, this will ensure a more unifying
and collaborative stance. We should also consider the fact that Isis has metamorphosed
into a global organisation expanding beyond its borders.
What are your views on global terrorism?
I am very sad about these events. The world has changed completely and this seems to have no end in sight. The UN is very useful because it's purpose of brokering peace; usually peacekeeping and negotiations, not the use of military force. Not sure how the UN can come in here.
ReplyDeleteAnne Chia, remember UN has a security council in charge of such issues. They could ensure member states implement sanctions targeting their finances amongst others and ensure international cooperation in tackling terrorism.
ReplyDeleteThe world should just end. Am tired of the whole thing to be quite honest.
ReplyDeleteI have lost faith in Intl Organisations such as the UN. The mask is off. They are definitely too slow on the draw
