Nostalgia

After the feeling of nostalgia, the next thing is the way forward.
If you are residing/have resided in Nigeria or living/lived with your Naija relatives, you would have heard the term the “good old days” in reference to Nigeria or even witnessed it.

The good old days when citizens were sure of good basic amenities, when our universities were on par with universities in the west. When graduates were assured of a job after graduation. When things were ridiculously cheap and a flight within Naija was like 50 naira or so. When we were not so reliant on generators or neighbourhood security. When you can build your house without the extra worries of digging a bore hole. When our farmers can go to their farms without the fear of being killed. When you can travel to your village without the fear of being kidnapped or killed off due to religious fanaticism. When you can boast out loud I AM FROM NIGERIA.

In lieu of the above, which of the things listed below is one thing Nigeria really needs or what is the way forward for us?

1.    Security
2.    Power generation
3.    Good roads
4.    Health facilities
5.    Fuel, diesel and gas supply
6.    Education and health facilities
7.    Diversification
8.    Economic empowerment

  2. Nigerians are very innovative, self reliant and self sufficient. It's private sector would be the best in the world if only we had roads, and Internet for communication, and electricity most importantly to reduce the strain on production processes.

  4. Nigeria needs all these things mentioned here but the problem is 'CORRUPTION' If that can be tackled, am sure the rest will be history.

  5. I would say power generation although all of the above are important. However, if we had constant power, a lot would change for the better.

  6. We need Nepa or whatever they are called to be reformed. When we have light, we can think well and tackle other problems. Lol. Jokes apart, it's really appalling that things get from bad to worse and only little to say about any achievements. Corruption being d most likely reason why we lag behind and are not moving forward. The worst part is that almost every1 seems to know we have problems but what are we all doing to make a difference and a change. If only we can all do our bit, a drop in the ocean....
