What's your story?

pic,playbuzz

Stories have always been a medium to educate and entertain.
This is because, “once you allow yourself to identify with the people in a story, then you might begin to see yourself in that story even if on the surface it’s far removed from your situation.” – Chinua Achebe.

If you were asked to narrate or write your story what type would it be? Does your story inspire, engage or discourage, is it based on experiences you have had and that which you are eager to pursue. “Stories can conquer fear, you know. They can make the heart bigger.” – Ben Okri.

Everyone has a story to tell, your next door neighbour, the shop assistant and the old lady you always say hi to on your way to work. I was sitting four seats opposite a lady in a bus, who was crying her eyes out and I could not help but wonder what her story was. Has your story defined who you are or how you view things?
In interviews you are most likely to be asked, tell me about yourself or what makes you unique? Your story could be based on different chapters of your life; professional and personal. Our best stories are those that have impacted more in our lives and usually have a sacred place in our hearts.

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” – Maya Angelou. Telling our story makes us accept who we are. Your story could save a soul, inspire or make the world a better place. Is your story similar to that of Arya of the house of Stark?  Go on share your story.

  1. My story is that im a 30yr old virgin waiting on the one. Its been a long journey and its not over yet seeing as im still single. I have to say it's quite the conversation starter for thos who i do share it with, but at other times it is frustrating since i am human, with both physical and emotional needs. I first made this decision to not have sex before marriage based on not wanting to let anyone hurt me like id seenin the past but as i built a relationship with God i found that my purity would honour him and be a blessed gift to my husband. I must say other the journey has been favorable to me. It becomes tough in relationships where the guy attempts to push the envelope and go as far as he can before sex. Is it all about sex. These are questions that run through my mind.

  4. I am still writing my story and this is a very interesting chapter. It's amazing what stories people log around with them. I still marvel when I hear people's life stories. I have to say though that my story is becoming more interesting as I get older, I wonder if that applies to everyone.

  5. My story!!!
Where do I begin? How do I tell it?
Will people understand? Or, will they judge me?
These are the questions that go through my mind each time I think about it. I want to share my experiences, but I feel that fear pulling me back! But, i must gather courage, I must tell my story. Someone needs to hear it. I must speak out!!!
Someday...maybe someday, people will hear all about it...
    Till then...
