World Leaders call for Truce in Syria

World leaders call for suspension of hostilities for all parties involved in the Syrian war.

United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and UN Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura spoke to reporters at the International Syria Support Group meeting in Munich. The negotiation was reached by United States, RussiaArab League, European Union, United Nations and 17 other countries.

But John Kerry cautiously warns, “What we have here are words on paper, what we need to see in the next few days are actions on the ground.”

For the sake of the civilians in Syria, who have been the most affected causalities, I do hope this truce is permanent. My question is why was no definite date set aside for the truce?
